Android widget doesn't show events and tasks

The Android widget used to work fine, but now it doesn't show events and tasks for the day. Removing and adding the widget again didn't fix the problem.

Okay, as I was writing this, I went back to the Routine Android app, the striked cloud icon went away, and the widget updated correctly.

So was I offline for a while? I remember seeing this striked cloud icon for several days.

      Another observation

      • I look at the Android widget, there's no events for today

      • I tap on the widget to open the app

      • The app was already open in the background, and it still shows the date of yesterday as “today”

      • This time there's no striked cloud icon, but still, the app doesn't automatically go to the next day when it stays open, and thus the widget doesn't update

      • If I kill the app and reopen it, today is properly marked as today, and the widget is updated

      My guess: there's a bug which doesn't update the current day after midnight when the app stays open in the background, and this causes the widget to be stuck on yesterday with no more events to display.

    I just saw that Android also has its own battery management system, which was enabled for Routine. I disabled it and I will report if the problem happens again.

    It happened again, the widget was showing nothing for today. I opened the app, it was showing the striked cloud icon (not connected), and didn't connect by itself. After killing the app and starting it again, it was connected, and the widget got updated.

    I've checked the battery settings for the Routine app, and it's already completely unrestricted, so the OS is not killing the app in the background. My phone is an Honor Magic V5.
